8-) Come on, sustenato never hurt nobody. Better than toothpick anyway. Godsend for us smallhanded. And remember, there is no resource limit in outside midi processing.

Aha, Midi Solutions does have a lot of midi processing boxes but they are not so cheap and as I am living in Belgium it's gonna take some extra costs on top for international delivery.

Maybe the event processor model, triggered by a footswitch, could do the note off filtering but I'm not sure if it will work.

The question now is whether the HX3 firmware can be modified to support sustain or not and if not go the external midibox route, which is rather expensive, or try to make a workaround via Cubase midi input transforming. I've never tried Cubase midi coding so that's going to be a challenge worth trying but not so practical when you go out for a live gig.

Thanks for the tip. Saves me a lot of time preventing me from digging into Cubase MIDI which will probably not solve the missing sustain feature on the HX3.

I guess the one and only person who can shine some light on this request is Carsten himself. Will it be worth to give it another try to implement sustain in the HX3 firmware or not? Can we expect something on that level or is this end of story for the sustain feature wish?

The question is, will the Event Processor prevent a 'note'off' command on all the key events (on a selected midi channel) until the footswitch is released, in the way that we need it to work? I suppose an email to Midi Solutions might get us the answer.

But then, who will be the first to order one and try it out... :-)

I've send a mail to Carsten to have a look at this discussion to get his opinion.
Not sure whether he will reply and if he has time to do it but I'll wait and see what comes out.

I have started developing on a Midi Hold Box. The code is ready but I have to test the performance and stability for a live situation. I will tell more when it is ready for sale. Just give me a few days.

For sure really ........... but in far distance I than can hear those guys who have a real HX 3 organ model and no expander version when they cry:
we also want this feature.
In moment based on actual mk4 board as it is ..... no way to do it.
I´ve talked about the reasons.
Options outside midi processing has nothing to do with HX3 itself. I´ve searched for those MIdiboxes last days but didn´t find them , only several discussions about that problem even at plug in software.

Just a developer and hobby musician.

I think that if the solution works as I hope the organ gets ready to be used in any live Keyboard situation. So if I don’t get it running I can’t use the Hx3 my own except at home or single Organ gigs. So I will give everything I got to get this running as expected. Keep you updated!
