KeyB Duo MK2

Hi all!
I´m tryin to get my HX3.5 to work with my KeyB Duo MK2.
But when it´s connected via MIDI it does not react to the pre-configured MIDI CC set "KeyB/Duo", no reaction to drawbars, switches etc, only a raw organ tone with lots of OD. I´ve tested severel MIDI-cables, but same result.
My KeyB sends MIDI, i´ve tested to connect it to my piano, works OK.
I´ve also tried to do a factory reset according to the manual, but that does not function.
Any suggestions?

Please try first Note on/off MIDI data

Be shure to use the correct MIDI IN plug

regard component top side

The HX 3.5 must run on
upper = channel 1
lower = channel 2
Pedal = channel 3

Other MIDI Channels were not accepted.

If that runs MIDI is OK
Then You have to choice a HX 3.5 MIDI CC Set

Chose than KEYB CC Set

regard the HX 3.5 advises how to change and store done settings

her some handling has changed to former versions

If any problems still there with th board contact Keyboardpartner direct via email

I should have been more specific, I have the HX3.5 Expander Module.
What do you think re. it will not reset, following instruction in the manual?

To give a correct answer tell please the software release shown when
switched on. If nothing is shown on display You must look at HX 3.5 board
Under each board is a label with all those informations too.
Owner name , licenses and software release etc
Anyway try first MIDI IN with NOTE ON / OFF played on Your keyboard
When this runs it´s only a unknown or wrong MIDI CC set for the expander.
The default CC Set is NI B4
You must than change it to KEYB CC Set.
You only can chose one of the offered posible ones.

Hallo, ich möchte mich hier mit einklinken.
Der Threadstarter JohnDoe kommt aus Schweden und er hat den HX3.5-Expander diese Woche von mir erworben (von mir gekauft im Dezember 2018). Es ist die aktuellste Softwareversion drauf (5.412) und ich hatte das HX3.5 mit einer Crumar Mojo betrieben. Ich hatte ihm geraten, sich hier an das Forum zu wenden, weil ich ihm technisch nicht weiterhelfen kann - ich war der Meinung, es wäre ganz einfach, dass er das Teil zum laufen kriegt, denn bei mir hatte es ja auch einwandfrei geklappt.
Insofern danke ich schonmal allen, die hier in englischer Sprache dem lieben Freund aus Schweden helfen können.

waren die Jumper für die MIDI Bchsen evtl so gesetzt daß beides MIDI IN war ?
wenn nein ist es nur eine MIDI Buchse die als IN fungiert.

Aber egal wie ein CC set gewählt ist. Töne = Note ON/OFF muß in jedem Fall
funktionieren auf Kanal 1,2 und 3
Dh auf diesen Kanälen muß ein KeyB auch senden und nicht auf irgendwelchen
anderen Kanälen.
Dieses kann nur am KeyB eingestellt werden nicht am HX 3.5

So, today I installed the editor and executed Reinit/ReBoot/Finalize, to me that´s the same as factory reset, right?
But the result is the same:
KeyB MIDI out-->HX3 MIDI in, exp pedal-->HX3 swell, HX3 audio out 1/2--> mixer input 1/2.
CC template "KeyB Duo" is enabled and the result is:
Preset 1-15 produces sound on upper/lower manual, exp pedal works but the sound is straight organtone with OD, no leslie, V/C, perc etc.
Drawbars, buttons and pots on the KeyB makes no difference to the sound.

Pressing the MenuPanel encoder knob on the Expander and then power up does still not result in a factory reset, as it says in the manual.
When I connect the KeyB to my piano, it works as expected, I can play piano on the KeyB (no fun)!

I´ve crosscheched the KeyB Duo MIDI implement chart to the HX3 KeyB template and the CC´s match, so what´s missing?
KeyB Duo is set to Local off, meaning it triggers external tone generators only and the KeyB CC´s can´t be manipulated.
I´m sure this will be solved in due time!

Happyfreddy, ich kann dir das nicht beantworten. Ich hatte an dem Gerät nichts verändert, nichts umgesteckt, nichts programmiert sondern das Gerät so genutzt, wie es mir geliefert worden ist. Keine Ahnung, welche Jumper man da hätte umstecken können.
SIA, have you also checked the second MIDI-In at the HX3?

Yes, same result using MIDI IN or MIDI IN/OUT.

In this case the second MIDI IN/OUT plug is configured as second ( merged ) MIDI IN.

The switching between straight and with Lesliesimulation has to be done by button A/B configuration
For the expander has no extension board and button field like the organ expander this nut be done
by editor and must be stored in each preset. The presets must the be configured as " over all " presets
