halfmoon switch for HX3.5

Beitrag von zoleeon »

Hi everyone!
Last month I got my HX3.5 organ module and I need a wiring schematic to be able to make a halfmoon switch. I have a guitar double 3 way switch, with 8 poles which I used it with Viscount expander and it was quite easy to make it work SLOW-STOP-FAST...but I couldn't manage to set it up with the HX 3.5. If anyone can help please do so. Thank you!

All the best!

The connection of a mechanical switch to 1/4 stereo jack of HX 3 expander
is shown in pic

You must use a 3 way switch with middle switch position
( Humbucker switch at guitars ie )

When the " ring " is connected permanently to GND the function is only
fast slow
If the "ring" is not connected to GND the function is STOP.
So one half of the double switch is used for the stop function and the other for the
Fast - Slow function

One more question...when the lever is moved in side position be it slow or fast, are the middle green poles connected to the sideway poles (right or left) or only the side poles are connected(right or left)?

in the middle position ( as shown in pic ) are the "connecting metal parts " only contacted to the
middle pins. Both side pins left or right are without any contact to other pins.

The "ring switch" is closed in left or right position.
That is needed to realize the RUN mode for fast or slow.
In middle position the ring has NO CONTACT to GND so the function STOP is true

The "pin switch " is only in slow position closed

Is there a way to wire this kind of switch to be able to use it with hx3.5organ module?
Thank you!

On PIc You see the first "inside" switch at upper side.
The lower side is equal.

You see 4 solder pins located in a circle section.
The left one is the slider which is equal to the middle switchcontact
in my drawing.
Going the right side You see 3 othe solder pins
At the right pin You see from the inner metal part the contactswitch segment
( rectangle part) This part is the switch contact one.
When pushing the knob from left position as (shown in pic ) in direction right
this metal contact seghment wil the close the contact to the middle pin and further
pushing to the left pin
So wiring must be done as followed:
the left solder Pin is the middle contact respecting my drawing.
The next pin and the right outside pin are the positions for fast and slow
The other switch at under side of Aour switch is same
So one side for the function of run and stop means :
left pin is middle pin of my drawing the following next and the pins at right side must be
connected and this wire goes to the ring connection

The other switch at lower side pin with slider to middle contact of drawing and the next pin to pin of
jaxk . Regard then how the complete switch must be mounted to get at left siode the lower function and
at right position the fast function.
In middle position You have always the stop funktion.
Hope that helps a little .........
