Hammond XK3 direct keyboard connection

Is it possible to directly connect the Hammond-Suzuki XK3 keyboards to the HX3 instead of using midi? Is there a latency difference i.e. faster without midi?

There is no way to connect any keyboard directly to HX3 mainboard.
For using FATAR keys You need the FATARscan2 board, which supports two keyboards ( upper and lower manual )

If any other key with simple contacts You can use the normal scanboards like Scan61-inline.

Only in case of SAME MATRIX and Connections of named XK3 Hammond keys You can try it at own risk.
We don´t know how these keys are constructed

One final question before I go the Fatar keyboards route — I found the Hammond-Suzuki XK3 keyboards matrix diagram (the lower keyboard is the same). Is it possible this could attach to the Fatar scan board? The first connector is 16-pin but the second connector is 20-pin presumably because of the preset keys. Possible or should I give up the idea?

If You want to use this control properly the polarity of the diodes !!!
I know that the same Fatar keys used in VISCOUNT drawbar Organs have opposite
polarity of the diodes !!

If You use Hammond Suzuki keys You have to buildt up a interface corresponding to
the micromatch plugs and their number of pins

Paul, do you also have access to a schematic of the XB-5 keyboard matrix? If it is the same matrix, we may have a solution. The inverse keys must be separated anyway and wired to a Preset12-2 or an Extend16 board, the latter allowing to use four more digital inputs for switches or buttons.

perhaps it will be the same configuration as at FATAR 6 octave keys.
The rubber contact boards just begin with their matrix at lowest key -
anyway if this is a negative preset key or normal key..
In my HX 3 in B3 look I used such 6 octave FATAR keys and it was necessary to use
for the HX 3 keys 5 octave rubbercontact boards an a separate 1 octave rest
for the preset keys.

I expect at the HAMMOND XB key that because there is a 16 pol and 20 pol plug
that the rubbercontacts just begin at lowest key of the 6 octave keyboard

The used FATAR Keys in HX 3 have only two 16 pol plugs to connect the 61 dynamic rubber contacts.
For the XB Key with 20 + 16 = 36 plug pins for 72 keys this will mean that only 4 pins are reserved for the
12 preset keys.
That makes no sin so her we will have a other configuration of the matrix.

Easiest way just post a pic from the XB keys how it´s made there with the matrix ...
