Installing an HX3 in a Hammond C2

Hello,

I would like some advice on how to install an HX3 board in a Hammond C2. Do I have to install MIDI in the C2 or is there another way?

Hi,
Because there is no Keycontact under each manual key free You have to install a separate new contactsystem
driven mechanicly by normal keys. You need only simply ON-OFF contacts switching to a common busbar either
for using via MIDI or with the ORGANSCAN 61 respective ORGANSCAN 16 - set 4 for each manual.
The problem is to integrate such keycontacts to original Hammond keys mechanically.
You have only the space under the metal shaft
of Hammond keys. When installing remember that sometimes it´s nessesary to remove the Hammond keys
when the plastic body isn´t fixed by the aluminium screws or the plastic shaft of body is broken.
What kind of contact system You use is Your decision
- simply spring contacts
- magnetic REED Contacts
or others
When using Reed Contacts with little magnets remember that the whole chassis of Hammond keys is METALLIC.
