It´s a nice idea but You have some problems with correct switching ( and storing later )
I have made a pic of function of panel 16 board
It seems that the LED is lightning permanently but it isn´t so
Via PL 4 the panel is driven by I2C bus
The IC PCA9532 decodes the incoming data and switches on it´s output pins permanently
between "OUT" and " IN "
Out means to drive the LEDs ( output pins goes to GND )
IN means to read the switches ( output pin goes to VCC )
The frequency is like in a movie : more than 25 pics/second, so that Your eyes registrate a permanently light in LED.
If You use this signal to drive a switch ( 4066 ) to change the set of drawbar it also will change permantly between both sets.
The switching ICs on drawbar boards run with 3,3 Volt ; the panel 16 board runs with 5 volts.
So it is better to use the old Preset 12 board because on this board You have the IC 4011 connected as a RS FLIP FLOP which gets from PCA
9532 the "set " and "reset" signal from relevant presetswitches
